RRRR (Rick's Real Racing Recreations)
Hi guys,
Since starting in ACR back in Closed beta, I've been trying to be a collector of cars that I can relate to from real life racing. Once I gain the car in my garage, I then choose a skin that I would like to decorate on the car in an attempt to recreate my own slice of realism from ACR.
This thread is my examples of what can be done with the Workshop Styling Suite. They are by no means the best I have seen on ACR, there are some absolutely mind blowing designs out there, but I am pretty proud of how each one has turned out for my liking.

Notes:
The thing that struck me as interesting with Montoya's car is the Texaco logo. It lends itself to ACR's styling suite as it can be recreated using a simple circle, a star and some rectangles to create the 'T'. It is easy to create, but it also looks awesome. The 'Havoline' livery was a little more tricky, but as I opted to make all the lettering in capitals instead of lowercase, this made it a lot easier to create using just a bunch of rectangles.
This is the car design that won me my beloved Ford GT in Open beta and therefore will always be one of my favourite designs. I aim to recreate this car again when I get the VXR8 again.

Notes:
With this one, I didn't know of any race opel corsa's so I went on the hunt in Google. I found a couple but the one that really caught my eye was a rally car that had "OPC cup" written down the side of it. It looked great and I wanted my Corsa to look like that. The "OPC" part of the car was made using shapes from the "Shapes 3" tab. I doubled them up to give a thicker, more bold line to the lettering.
I had massive problems with the bonnet livery as I struggled to get the logo looking good without it bleeding to the side of the car. A very unforgiving model for bleeding I thought.

It's been done a few times before but for me, I wanted one for myself so I recreated this iconic classic Gulf coloured Ford GT. The front bumper was quite tricky to achieve without the dreaded bleeding but with a bit of fiddling, I got it to look pretty decent. Once I get my mitts on some E-Bucks, I aim to buy some wheels and colour them orange.
Mazda RX7 - Tedex WRC Car

Notes:
I scoured Google images to find a good RX7 to re-create. I saw this one and loved it. I started off with the black front end, then moved on to the blue rear with the stripes. The carbon effects were achieved using a chequered pattern, just scaled down to tiny, rotated and skewed. Next up was the finer detail such as the lettering and number 4 sticker. The final piece was colouring the wheels blue which was the only expense spent on this car. The colour blue = 50E! not a bad investment I'd say.Last edited by RickSpeed; 30-05-2012 at 11:20 AM. Looks awesome!
You could try creating gifs from a video in freeview so we can see all round the cars?
