it's not  EUTECHNYX product it's SYSTEM.3's fault but in this case it's Activision!

Yep, Activision should be the ones giving us U.S. owners an apology and pushing SONY to get the patch out.

I appreciate the Admin trying to keep us updated as best as he or she is able.  But at this point, I can well understand and sympathize with everybody's frustration.  We're effectively into November and no patch and no DLC.

I can only hope that the DLC will quickly follow the US patch.  When the game was released there was some big budget TV advertising here in the US during the Formula 1 race broadcasts on the Speed Channel.  But that was months ago and I'm afraid the momentum has been lost.

Hi,

Unfortunately the US patch has failed Sony testing. There was 1 must fix issue found and Sony has declared we cannot go ahead with the deployment until this is put right. We are aiming to re-submit the patch sometime next week.

Let me take this opportunity to apologise to everyone who have been waiting for the update and assure you we are doing everything possible to rectify the situation and have the patch distributed ASAP.

As ever, I will keep you informed…

I HOPE ALL DLC IS FREE OR I'M DONE WITH THIS GAME TOO! I KNOW IT'S SYSTEM3'S FAULT NO ONE'S ELSE@@@

Ya, I'm also wondering this. I'm sure there's a reason for the differences although it makes no sense to me to have different versions of the same game for the same console. It seems to be double the work for 1 game.

rejected lol

Well, think of it this way, we already bought the game and we can't refund anymore. this is probably why every company involved is taking their time. What we could do though, is to head over to some site such as gamespot or ign and rate this product with our honest opinions.

Here in the UK we have had three patches.
You will be getting all three together in one patch.
I wish Sony or Activision would get there act together and give you guys the patch.
It would be nice to have the lobbys full.

Try to read, and hopefully comprehend the following post, and use this data in an effort to try and determine whose fault it is for this ridiculous fiasco:

You're like that other guy that thinks that Eutechnyx is getting the raw end of the deal.  You are wrong.  Anyone who actually wasted money on this joke of an unfinished release is the one who is made to suffer.  You are in the correct forum.  You need to address your complaints to the shoddy developers of this game....and no one else!

I know Eutechnyx will fix it shortly and maybe submit it later this week. But SCEA will manage to waste up to 4 weeks, again.
SCEE gets patchs out in 10 work days (max) and they even release them at weekends.

So why is SCEE more competent (by that I mean faster, too) than SCEA?
And don't tell me that they (SCEA) is more accurate then SCEE.

Well I'm trying to be as understanding as possible, The game has been out for months now and here in the U.S. we have yet to receive a single patch. I don't know who's idea it was to combine the patches but it was a BAD one. I seriously could care less about DLC or the number of cars advertised, I just want to play the game online! It's a shame I have received 2 patches for SOCOM and 3 for LBP already, I know those games sold more so more people to upset, but this is getting to be such a huge disappointment.

I don't even care about playing online right now. I just wish it doesn't go into infinite reply after every race.

Wow, I honestly wasn't aware of that bug. I can play single player fine. Have you tried deleting the install and save data? Not trying to be a smart ***, so if you've tried that sorry.

If you order off the net please post a link. I thought about ordering the PAL version when it was released, thats not a bad idea. I wonder what the odds of being able to swap versions, Admin?

Thanks for the advice, I may have to try it. I haven't played it for weeks since it's not really playable. I can only remember that it goes into a infinite loop either in replay mode or after the race. This is what I found after googling.

Patch V3 was submitted to Sony today and fixes the following issues:

PSN names below 10 characters stopping people connection to online games
1080 graphic detail restored
575 Leaderboard crash
Infinite laps / White flag bug
Crash to XMB after certain races

So I'n guessing that's what it is that I've been experiencing. Oh and the game crashed a few times on me as well.

It will then be down to Activision as to when they send the patch to Sony. It took approximately 2 months for it to go through both Activision and Sony the first time and I sincerely hope things will be a lot quicker this time.

Two months?!   Shocked  I hope not.  That would take it into 2009.  I'd be happy if it's here by Thanksgiving.

BTW, is there any way you can explain Activision's role in approving the patch?  And for that matter the extent of their involvement in the game.  I know they are distributing the game in North America but I'm surprised to see it's not even listed on their website.

Hi,

As Activision are responsible for the sale and distribution of the game in the US it is down to them when they submt the patch to Sony. I'm not sure why it isn't listed on their website.

its activisions fault, SORRY admin for behaving like a fool earlier Roll Eyes

I feel that playing the Blame game with Activision and Sony is pushing far and not taking responsability for your own issues.
Do Activision and Sony bear part of the blame ? probably.

Are they responsible for the US patch being submitted for testing 2 weeks after the European patch was released ? I don't think so.
Are they responsible for the US patch being buggy and needing to be redone, I don't think so either........

Fact is support since this game was originally released hasn't been lackluster ( you still can't get all the cars that were supposed to be originally supported..) and the current situation with the US patch is getting to be beyond ridiculous...

PS : it didn't take Activision/Sony 2 months to process the patch. Based on the information given to us on this forum and on another one by FerrariPro the US patch was submitted to Activision/Sony on the week of October the 14th and rejected on October the 31st. That is less than 3 weeks...........Most of the delay was actually due to Eutechnyx as the original European patch was buggy and it delayed the submission of the US patch...........

There's a lot of blame to go around.  And all parties (Eutechnyx, System 3, Activision, & Sony) have had a hand in this fiasco.

I'm trying to piece it all together now myself.  But from what I read, the patch was submitted to Activision for testing back in September.  And they submitted it to Sony for approval in mid October.

I think the fact the game is not even listed on Activision's web site speaks for itself. I've enjoyed the single player game and I've about lost all hope of ever being able to play the game online.
