The leaderboards remain a bit of a mystery.

They seem to take a long time to get posted & I'm pretty sure some of my times don't ever get posted.  I've also noticed that some of my "Friends" times don't appear on my "Friends" list, although they are listed in the "All Players' list.

It's all very confusing.  Admin. is there anything you can explain about the way the leaderboards work that will help us understand better what's going on, or are there simply some anomalies & errors in the system?

There are definitely anomalies in the system. I don't know if you did the tutorial, but you don't show up in my "Friends" view. GTP_fairplayplz sees my tutorial ranking in the "Friends" list, but I don't see his name there.

The delay can be down to how long it takes Sony to update them, sometimes I've notice 15-20 minutes. We'll look in to the friends issue and see if we can see any problem.

On a seperate note, we're waiting for Sony to purge the boards to eliminate bogus times.

How long does the update generally take - 30 minutes, 10 hours, 2 days?  I had kind of assumed it would be an instantaneous thing, like GT5P, but have noticed that it isn't.  I'm also fairly sure some of my best times have not appeared on the boards to date - so please bear in mind everyone: I'm not as slow as I look!   Cheesy

Some of my times have definately never shown up. I had to beat the No.1 time for the 360GT on Virginia 3 times before one would stick! This included waiting overnight between attempts as well.
On other occasions i'll set a time on say Monza and then go back in for another attempt a little while later and it will say something like "The current best time for Monza is 99:99:95"
Also on the Tuturial rankings there are people ranked higher than me with a lower percentage!

Well, trust me, the rankings are ridiculous anyway.  A few weeks after I had FC, I had my 3 year old daughter run up to me and told me she wanted to drive.  So I put her on my lap and went around Fiorano at a snails pace and steered together with her, making an exaggerated effort to stay on the racing line.  I think it took over 3 minutes to finish the lap.  And wham, suddenly I'm in the top 100.  LOL!  I've never been able to get close since.

the rankings should be based on fastest laps, time trail and lap records.  to determine who is the fastest overall!

race wins are not so important as competition gets disconected and ther are diferent driving styles , fair drivers that dont cut corners and dont push rivals of track, and the rest that is performing in the oposite way of fair racing.

in FC with the penalty sistem the fastest lap rankings are not posibel, i hope for a future game to have it.

I suffer from the same problems already mentioned above. Two days ago i managed a new lap record with the 575 GTC in Mugello (1:50.37) but when i left the timerace the game said: Record in Mugello is 99:59.99.

My achieved time never got into the leaderboard!

Yesterday i gave it another try but i never managed this laptime again. I only managed one 1:50.48 and then a 1:50.52. I left my ps3 online with FC and waited for one hour and 27 Minutes until the lap time was displayed in the leaderboard. But it was not the fastest lap time. It was only my 1:50.52. The 1:50.48 also didn´t make it into the leaderboard.

The last Admin-Info about this issue is from 19th December 2008!

Even with the work on SCC it would be nice to get a little update redarding this issue. If it won´t be fixed the Time-Races won´t be funny anymore.

I had the same issue and solved it by connecting to the internet "prior" to starting the game! I think once you started the game offline FC won't update it for you automatically!

I´m always connected to the internet    Grin

I´m always online (router). That can´t be the problem! If i drive in ONE SESSION two good laptimes and after more than one hour online without switching of the game or the ps3 only the slower Laptime makes it´s way into the leaderboard, it can not be a connection problem!

Both laptimes were "clean" and free of running "off-track". Both were shown properly in the HUD, but only one was registered in the leaderboard!?!?

I do all my laps in quick race or arcade, select the maximum number of laps 11 and one car grid so they don't get in my way  Cheesy I'm always connected too but when you on your ps3 wait till it connects to the PSN and only then enter the game!

Updates to the leaderboard still seem to be quite unreliable.

And removing the drivers with no time from the top would be nice.
